Alex Cooper and her popular relationship and sex podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” have signed a multi-year agreement with SiriusXM to replace Spotify as her distribution and advertising partner, the company said Tuesday.
“Call Her Daddy” was Spotify's second most popular podcast in 2023 after "The Joe Rogan Experience," and Spotify has said that it was the most popular one among women. SiriusXM will roll out “exclusive content” for all of Cooper’s shows in 2025, according to a SiriusXM news release.
Cooper's deal with SiriusXM is worth $125 million, more than double her previous deal with Spotify, according to reporting by CNN. Variety reported that the figure could be more like $100 million.
USA TODAY reached out to SiriusXM for details of the deal.
SiriusXM is set to replace Spotify as Cooper’s advertising and distribution partner, earning the right to market content, events and more for “Call Her Daddy,” as well as any and all current and future shows produced by The Unwell Network, a talent network launched by Cooper last year.
"I am beyond excited to work with SiriusXM," Cooper said in a statement. "The Daddy Gang will always be my top priority, and with SiriusXM we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners the best experience. The Daddy Gang wants more, so we're getting ready to give them more … I can't wait for this new chapter to begin."
'Call Her Daddy' is 'the number one podcast for women,' SiriusXM says
Cooper and former co-host Sofia Franklyn have been "creating conversations" on the podcast since 2018, interviewing a number of celebrity guests like Miley Cyrus and Rebel Wilson on a number of topics, including sex and relationships.
Wilson joined Cooper in early July to discuss "her journey to love and motherhood."
"Cooper cuts through the BS with topics and guests − asking the burning questions you want the answers to," according to the "Call Her Daddy" website.
Cooper, according to SiriusXM, is a trailblazer, crediting her with creating a space in the podcasting medium that "never existed before."
"Call Her Daddy" is a "space where women were encouraged, empowered, and emboldened to share their unapologetic stories and truths," SiriusXM said in a news release. "'Call Her Daddy' has attracted millions of listeners per episode, earning its place as the No. 1 podcast for women on Spotify globally.
Cooper's "fearless, unfiltered approach, where no topic is off the table, has created a passionate and dedicated fanbase that is unmatched in podcasting and perfectly aligns with the content that SiriusXM subscribers have come to love and expect from us," Scott Greenstein, Sirius XM president and chief content officer, said in a statement.
Alex Cooper’s ‘Call Her Daddy’ and others will still be available on Spotify
“Call Her Daddy” and Cooper’s other Unwell Network projects will still be available to stream through Spotify, a Spotify spokesperson told USA TODAY on Tuesday.
Full episodes of “Call Her Daddy” were available only on Spotify from July 2021 until January 2024, when the audio-only version of Cooper’s show became available on other platforms, Variety reported.
Under the SiriusXM deal, the company also secured "exclusive global ad sales rights to the video and audio editions” of Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” and Unwell Network’s current talent roster, which includes "Hot Mess with Alix Earle,” "Pretty Lonesome with Madeline Argy," "Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey” and "In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele.”
